Why We Need Adele

It's been three long years since we have heard any new music from Adele and five years since she has graced us with a full-fledged album. We have all been patiently waiting, until yesterday when all that changed. It was about 2:30am EST when Adele dropped the latest single "Hello" to radio and the video hit the internet. That was also the Friday that we all arrived to work crying like babies. (I personally downloaded the song instantly and had it on replay for the rest of the day.) Sure, it's typical of an Adele track to tug at our heart strings, but weren't we all over all the stories of how she has been heartbroken and sad? What was it about "Hello" that tore us all to shreds? The answer..

Millennials and Dating...

From the adaptation of a more sexually liberal frame of mind, to the support of major social issues like gay marriage and women’s equal pay, Millennials have proven themselves to be more forward thinking than the more conservative and traditional generations before us. This new mindset is very clearly exemplified in our approach to how we date. In previous generations, finding someone you could spend your life with, settling down, and raising a family was often a priority, so men and women pursued all interests with extreme seriousness. In modern times, marriages are not at the top of our “to-do” lists; therefore pursuing relationships aren’t as essential. Millennials have a different set of

Bow Ties & Wedding Cake: The Rules of Engagement (Parties)

September & October 1 year and 4 months till the wedding So one of the things they don’t tell you is that when you get engaged, there is a shit ton of things you gotta do. For example: making the official announcement, taking engagement photos, choosing your wedding party and of course- the ENGAGEMENT PARTY. The last few months have been so packed with planning all these ceremonious little details, I nearly forgot to celebrate my own birthday. Somehow, on top of everything, I managed to squeeze a little birthday dinner in there. Which, in looking back, I am glad I didn’t go all out as I was just exhausted from all the wedding shenanigans. In my head, I kept thinking I have planned several

Cupid's Favorite Pumpkin Donuts!

Remember the days when all we had to look forward to at the change of the seasons was the "Pumpkin Spice Latte" at Starbucks? Well, it seems that the American fascination has reached new heights this year as pumpkin flavored or themed products are EVERYWHERE! I was just in a Trader Joes the other day and they told me there's at least 40 different types of pumpkin products this year. AMAZING! But, that got me to thinking... how can I take this trend and give it some style? The answer: Pumpkin Donuts! In creating my recipe, I made sure to take the best parts of both worlds and elevate the taste and experience. By adding a little "Leyna's Kitchen Magic" I came up with something pretty amazing.

According To Spencer... A ComiCon Adventure Is Good For The Heart!

We have talked about it several times before on the radio show, I love ComiCon. Like in a BIG way! I love dressing up, meeting friends and meeting other Cosplay characters. David, Matt and I have talked several times about one day going all together to their first Comicon and expereincinhg it together. So when Long Beach Comicon rolled around, I jumped at the chance to bring the cupid gang along with me. Truth be told, David and Matt tried to turn it into a "relationship research" moment, which they did a lot of, but I think they eventually gave into the fun of ComiCon and just tried to take in all the fun! I think they enjoyed thier first experience at Comicon, you be the judge. Check out t

"Casual" on HULU - A Show About Dating and Life.

As if Fall Television wasn't already jammed with must see tv shows, the last thing I needed was to get trapped by Hulu with a new original series about dating. I mean, the main reason I am even on Hulu is because I am catchin up on tv that I was behind on. Now - BOOM, here I am distracted! Enter "Casual" a show about a woman, Alex (Michaela Watkins) who's a therapist in the middle of getting a divorce, her daughter Laura (Tara Lynne Barr) who is an angsty sexually active teen and the man they live with, their brother Alex (Tommy Dewey) who is a loud and proud (yet slightly depressed) serial dater. The series is written and produced by Jason Reitman (Up In The Air & Juno) so it's already got
